The Bellevue School District is considering situations for middle school start times. This is mainly due to the fact that start times are rogue, with large differences. This potentially causes logistical problems, in regards to transportation of students. They are considering two start times, as well as the condition of the status quo. However, these decisions will have effect on four various elementary schools.
Scenario 1 is that all middle schools will start at approximately 8 A.M, and end at 2:45 P.M. This is a 6:45 school day. Wednesdays will end at approximately 12:30 P.M., or a 4:30 school day. Times for Ardmore, Cherry Crest, Phantom Lake, and Stevenson Elementary Schools would be affected. Their school day would be from approximately 9 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Wednesdays for them would dismiss at around 1:15 P.M.
Scenario 2 is that all middle schools will start at approximately 9 A.M. and end at about 3:45 P.M. This is a 6:45 school day as well. Wednesdays will end at about 1:30 P.M., accounting for the same 4:30 school day. However, Bennett, Puesta de la Sol, Somerset and Woodridge Elementary Schools would be affected. They would start at approximately 8 A.M, ending at around 2:30 P.M. Wednesdays for them would end at around 12:10 P.M.
There is also a Scenario 3: the status quo. Nothing would change. Start, end, Wednesday dismissal times, all would be the same.
